Session 2 - October 17, 2020

Page history last edited by Bolthy 3 years, 6 months ago

It is Saturday. Carmen has just gotten off the phone with Nacho when she gets a knock on the door. A gothy sluagh is there with to deliver a purple envelope with a yellow seal address to "Carmen and Company" . Carmen is told that she is being summoned and is escorted to the Munster Koach. Carmen forgets her glasses.

They go to Penny's house and collect Penny.

Penny reads the letter and sees that it's an actual summons for the group, which Carmen has inadvertantly committed the group to. Lord Piper Gaines, one of Burbidge's Chancellors. Penny texts the rest of the group to give them a heads up.

Ram and Thunderpaws both try digging around under the seats, and both get gotcha'ed by the sluagh. Jemmers is absent.

The group is delivered to a nice restaurant called Emily's. Lord Gaines is a satyr drinking a mimosa. He needs to hire the group to "rectify" a situation.

After taking an oath of secrecy, the group is told that the baron's pennon (his badge of authority as head of the area). The group is tasked with finding it in the next 3 days when Duke Aeon will be in town to visit.

Leading suspects are Baron Park of Temecula.

The group is not allowed to search the baron's house, but are instead are getting an envelope with clues:

A piece of tape with a finger print, an evidence bag with hair, a Pogo Game membership card.

The group cannot contact the Chancellor via cell phone. Instead he uses honey and salt to make a sigil on the table, then shatters it into six pieces. The group is to place it in shadow to contact him.

The group splits up to tackle the different clues. Carmen and Molly go to Carmen's house to make churros as a bribe.

Penny goes to the hospital to try and slip the DNA test into the processing system.

Carmen and Molly deliver churros to the police department and Carmen tells her contact (her ex's parole officer) that she needs help looking up the fingerpint. She claims that it's from a break-in at her grandson's house and they just want to clear that it's not one of their grandson's friends.

Ram and Greg show up at Pogo games to try and check the membership card. The plan is for Ram to cause a distraction while Greg uses their system to look up the card owner. Ram looks suspicious and attracts one of the employees to watch her. She confronts the employee, accusing him of being a creep.

The sneak at the computer is partially thwarted by requiring a password, but with added distractions from Ram ("Bronies are just furries!") Greg is able to bypass the password.

The name on the account is Mark Shaker, along with an address.

Carmen and Molly go to the nearest casino to kill some time. It is a banal experience for Molly because a casino on a Saturday morning is just a miserable and sad place. Carmen wins $400 and gets a text back that results have come back.

Penny gets a text about the hair she submitted to the lab. Turns out it's squirrel fur.
