Session 3 - December 12, 2020

Page history last edited by Bolthy 3 years, 3 months ago

When last we saw our heroes, Carmen had just gotten a call from her ex-husband's ex-parole officer (Pike?) who has a result on the print. It belongs to a kid named David Graham (nickname of Cracker).

The group arranges to meet at the Stage. Carmen brings dinner. They are not able to loop in Jemmers on the oath, so they have to be vague.

Jemmers vaguely recognizes the names Graham and Shaker, but can't remember anything. Carmen calls her grandson, Tony,   who is a trouble maker. He kinda knows them, and briefly dated a member of their crew named Bonnie. Tony texts Bonnie and gets a vague response. He also gives Carmen Bonnie's phone number.

The group heads down to Shaker's address, which is in an apartment complex. Ram sneaks in and tries to sense the pennon. She senses something that smells like blood, ink, and goat. The goat smells like a grown up Jemmers?

Thinking there might be someone dead, they decide to investigate. The whole building is run down with missing steps, broken windows patched with cardboard.

Jemmers knocks on the door and it swings open. He rolls in. Carmen notices the door was forced open before they got there, possibly recently. Molly notices a neighbor on the 4th floor looking out her door with her yappy dog going nuts.

Jemmers and Ram search the place. Ram finds grease-stained overalls with a tire key in it. The overalls have "Mark" on the front and "Dave and Doug Autobody" on the back.

Ram steals the Switch. Jemmers searches and it just look like the place has been ransacked. In the trash Ram finds a matchbook from the "Ten Dollar Inn" with a local phone number and address. Inside is a lipstick mark and the letter "B".

Ram has a brief tussle with a rat.

The group decides to look into the second floor. Ram runs ahead, planning on running down to the van and then back up, but a hand grabs Ram's shoulder. When Ram turns around, there's no one there but a few doors down there's a horned figure. He introduces himself as Oliver Cress, aka "Bloodhorn." He looks more like a three-dimensional shadow.

Jemmers has a past-life memory of an Unseelie satyr that was known as an assassin. He says he thinks he is looking for the same thing: the pennon. He wants the group to know if they find the pennon first, that he wants what is best for the commoners.

Carmen calls Bonnie's number and gets "Trixie Belden", leaves a message. The group goes to the hotel, which is near Idylwild in Mountain View. On the way, they narrowly avoid getting run off the road.

Carmen senses that the animals nearby might not be animals.

Carmen goes to the desk claiming to look for her granddaughter, Bonnie, who might be under the name "Trixie Belden." She is there under the name of Trixie.

They get a room number and head back. At the room, no one answers a knock. Inside an alarm clock is beeping but no one is responding to it.

Ram pops the lock with very minor evidence. There's a waitress uniform for Polly's Pies draped over a chair, a half full can of soda. The alarm was set for 9, and it is 9:30.

The most recent call from the hotel phone was to the front desk. Carmen tries the cell number again and the voice mail now goes to "Nancy Drew." Ram breaks into the RC Cola machine and raids. Carmen tries calling the pie shop, but it closed at 9.

Ram discovers only the crappy options are left in the soda machine, so he rages out and opens up the diet sodas to dump them out. This attracts the attention of the front desk, and Ram flees. The front desk person catches them in the room, and they claim they had a spare key. When the front desk person leaves and the group sneaks out poorly.

They pick up Carmen's car and then go to the autobody shop. No one senses anything weird at the autobody shop. Ram sneaks into the autobody shop. Ram finds Mark's locker. Inside are two paper bags and a couple of RC cans. There's resistance in trying to grab the bag, and there is a string attached to some sort of mechanism.

Inside the first bag is a lunch with some pie. In the second bag is more pie. The trap goes off, spraying shaving cream and confetti on Ram. A sign rolls down from above that says, "I told you to leave my pies alone, Greg."

Ram rummages through Mark's toolbox but finds nothing useful.
